- Recognize and identify certain patterns that can assist in formulating a diagnosis
- Improve ability to combine histological and clinical information to render a diagnosis
- Gain a better understanding of skin biopsy techniques including helpful guidelines on choosing the best lesion(s) for biopsy and adapting the appropriate biopsy type
- Gain a better understanding of practical considerations to avoid causing artifacts that could hinder optimal dermatopathology interpretation
- Gain a better understanding of skin biopsy techniques in specific disease categories including inflammatory and neoplastic diseases
